THE ROCKINGHAM FOREST CARVERS

EXHIBITION 13TH AND 14TH OCTOBER 2007

The Exhibition of Woodcarvings at Highgate Hall, Elton on Saturday and Sunday 13th / 14th October was a resounding      success.  The club would like to express their sincere thanks to all those that attended, and also to those volunteers who helped to man the exhibition.

The good weather brought out 180 people over the 2 days, and they could look at 130 carvings, ranging from simple figures to complex relief carvings.  A number of visitors "had a go" under the watchful eye of our professional woodcarving tutor, Glyn Mould and several showed a keen interest in taking it further through the classes run by Glyn.  The club has also been lucky enough to bolster its numbers with several new members joining.

There were demonstrations taking place all day, and much interest was shown in these.

Many of the visitors took the opportunity to purchase tools or timber from local  suppliers who were on hand.
